Can a husband & wife get their Social Security benefits when they retire?
joie asked:
I heard that only one can draw their Social Security benefit when they both retire. Is this true? I also was told that some married couples file for divorce but then live together just so they can both get their S.S. retirement benefits.

They can both draw Social Security benefits at the appropriate age as long as each one contributed according to the rules (they had a job long enough to collect benefits).

Yes if both had income enough to qualify for SS, my wife and I both collect SS, you should check with SS it makes a difference depending on the year that you were born.
